THE PLACE
A chain of shallow alkaline lakes inside Arusha National Park, a short drive from Arusha town and framed by views of both Kilimanjaro and Meru. A canoe safari here glides past hippos, buffalo, and flamingos, one of the few places in Tanzania you can safely paddle among wildlife. It makes an easy, gentle day before or after a longer safari.
